I originally had the idea to start an AI webcomic a few years ago when DALL-E and Midjourney were still fairly new. I discovered that Bing had image generation for free, but it was really slow and iterations were limited. Because I'm a cheapskate, that's what I decided to use. I had several comics that I tried to create, and this one was one of them. It was one of my earliest ideas.

Well, the output was not good. As in terrible. Slop city. For some reason the model just couldn't understand that the mugs were plugged into the wall, not the robots. Or that the plugs needed to connect to the wall. Look, I get that this comic doesn't make any sense. Why are they drinking? Shouldn't it be the robots that are plugged in? Why would they even have the sensation of taste? Maybe the model thought I was the one who was being sloppy, and it was trying to correct that.

I'm still the boss here, though, and what you're seeing now is the comic I envisioned. I don't have an answer to any of those questions about why they are recharging in this way. All I know is that robots complaining about how their electricity tastes because of how it was generated makes me smile, and the machines can't take that away from me with their stupid logic.
