Quadrillionaire
A man is reading a newspaper with a headline about the world's first quadrillionaire. There is also an article about record high inflation. He is speaking to a woman who is making breakfast at the stove. She is wearing an apron out of money. There is also cash being used in various places such as a dog bed, table leg stabilizer, and coffee coaster. Text on image: "Why would anyone need more than a trillion dollars?"

Notes

I have a backlog of comics to publish that is roughly two months deep. I generally put them in the same order that I create them. This is the first time I wanted to rush something out for relevancy with current headlines. (For future readers or people who avoid the news, Elon Musk recently became the first trillionaire thanks to the SpaceX IPO.)

The reaction has basically been a rehash of the same old arguments about people not needing that much money with all the familiar tropes about exploitation and selfishness. It saddens me to see how much economic illiteracy there is. That illiteracy is pushed by politicians who know they can get away with whatever they want as long as the voting majority doesn't understand economics or monetary policy.

The image generation model inserted a lot of really bad jokes in the first version of this comic, so I replaced all of them with my own really bad jokes and commentary. So you can still blame me. It also put stacks of cash all over the place in the house, which I thought was a bit too much, so I took them out.

And Elon, if you're reading this, wouldn't you like to diversify your portfolio by investing in an up and coming web comic? I'll even let you rename it to The XLOP.
