Notes
One thing that has become obvious to me as I make the comics is that my favorite ones, the ones that make me laugh, are also generally the darkest. I always knew that my sense of humor skewed in that direction, but never has it been more apparent to me than now. This is one of those that makes me laugh. I'm not sure how much of it is the joke itself, and how much is the imagery. Chat GPT's image generation model is brutal when it comes to generating old people.
If ever there is a live forever drug, or at least a live really long drug, I hope that it includes at least some ability to reverse aging. I say that a bit selfishly, of course, given that I'm past my own physical prime. But also it would really suck to be one of the old people in this comic. Assuming their mind is still sharp, anyway.
Sometimes when I'm ruminating about death, I wonder that if when I see my own end approaching, how much I will regret not getting to see a resolution to all of the goings-on in the world. It's like thousands of cliffhangers for canceled shows all at once. Will I even care at all? I'm not sure. I lean towards no, I'll have more important things on my mind. But right now, where I hope to still have at least a few decades ahead of my, it helps me to appreciate the opportunity to read what's on the next page every single day.
