Notes
I have a sweet tooth. It's one of my favorite scapegoats. I know that I get it from my parents, but I often wonder if it's genetic or taught. Dessert was a very common component of our meals, you see. So, maybe that implies nature over nurture. Or maybe it just tells you that my mom and dad themselves were victim to that which was passed to them.
Whatever the source, each time I partake in such foods, I feel at least some regret later. Always emotional, sometimes physical in the form of indigestion. Yet that never deters me from indulging myself the next time. Is this what addiction is like?
I've said before that if I had a genie (or other such wish-granting entity) at my disposal, my first (and possibly only) wish would be for cherry coke to have the same taste, but the nutritional value of water. Since such a thing is obviously impossible, perhaps technology could provide an alternative. Maybe this is my calling. Imagine the good I could do for the world. I must think upon this.
