One thing about having kids is that you get to see how they view mom vs. how they view dad. Mom is the caretaker, the problem-solver, and the cuddler. Dad is rule enforcement, clown, and toy. He is a mountain to climb, a competitor to defeat, and a punching bag.

This comic is based on real events. I was at the pool with my kids and their cousins, and they essentially decided that I was ship needing to be dragged into the depths by them, a group of giant squid. Between trying not to hurt them (despite their having no concerns for my own welfare), trying not to drown them, trying not to wound any innocent bystanders, and trying not to earn the ire of the lifeguard, it was not an easy battle. I never had more than three opponents at any given time. If our family had a larger collection of younglings, I do not know how I would have fared.
