Lasers are weird. Usually with a technology, the lethality is well-known and universal. Guns are dangerous. LEDs are harmless. But lasers are all over the place. Mostly they are safe, but sometimes they can cut you open, or boil your blood, or whatever. If someone says they have a laser gun, I don't know how I should feel.

It used to be that you could see lasers. Now there are cars driving around on streets and shooting lasers everywhere, but I can't see them. I assume those lasers aren't doing anything worrisome. But what if someone replaces them with the bad lasers? Then we have death cars driving themselves everywhere. That seems problematic. It's probably better to not just worry about it.
