Notes
We all know that we live in a two-tiered system (really a multi-tiered system if we're picking nits). One of the ways that this is evident is that us commonfolk would never be able to get away with the dodges and non-answers that the higher tiers do when they are compelled to testify. The thing that bugs me isn't that, though. It's that we accept it and continue to put our trust into such a system. Some people will (rightfully) point out that our predecessors were pushed to revolution for far less, but the more modern the comforts, the more slack we allow on government abuse, and our leaders seem intent on finding out exactly how much that is.
