When most people talk about climate change, they make an assumption that it is prima facie bad. If they give reasons, it's things like the glaciers are melting or the polar bears are dying. But those are effects, not necessarily reasons that it should be avoided. You could also talk about how other species are thriving, or new species are born. In fact, in terms of human fatalities, there are nine times as many due to extreme cold as extreme heat. So in at least one sense, global warming is a benefit for humanity. Yet any time someone tries to approach the situation with an open mind and a desire for the best outcome for people, they get shouted down and called names. It's dumb.
