The Lindsay Clancy trial is certainly an interesting window into American (and more broadly western, probably) society at this point in history. Given the facts, it's not something I would have expected to be controversial. We've had a number of trials recently that had stark dividing lines, but those lines were almost purely drawn between left-wing and right-wing. This one is a little different (though certainly there is a political correlation).

Myself being male and with a right-wing (meaning hierarchical, not conservative), my opinion is unremarkable. She's a murderer, she murdered innocent, helpless children in brutal, painful fashion, and she deserves worse than what she delivered. The mindset of those who side with her is completely alien to me. I cannot even begin to empathize with it in any way, and I fear the future of civilization if it is as common as the media is leading me to believe.
